DIDACTIC INSTRUMENT FOR GENDER ANALYSIS IN ROMANTIC FILMS: The presence of myths romantic love and abuse in "a tres metros sobre el cielo"

This article addresses a teaching concern and sheds light on gender inequality and violence present in romantic cultural imaginary depicted in cinematographic resources used in the classroom. The objective of this work is to present an analytical instrument that can be used in educational centers to highlight the possible inequalities and sexist manifestations in romantic films. The proposed dimensions are the myths of romantic love, sexism, the filmic representation of women and the variables of the CIS in their study 3027 of gender violence (2014). We analyze the film A tres metros sobre el cielo. Through the viewing and analysis of the film in class, we observed results such as the presence of myths of romantic love, benevolent sexism, characters involved in sexist roles, visions of hypersexualized women and even scenes of sexist violence with insults, screams, shoves or slaps based on love. The subsequent debate was characterized by resistance to accept certain elements of romantic love as discriminatory towards women. In this reflection, there may be this rejection as a reference model of romantic dreams.
