Polymerization of ethylene dichloride and sodium tetrasulfide: synthesis and kinetic studies

摘要
In this work, the kinetics of the condensation polymerization of ethylene dichloride and sodium tetrasulfide is studied. The resulting polymer is characterized by FT-IR, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal analysis (DTA), elemental analyses (CHN), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis. The activation energy of the condensation polymerization obtained from an Arrhenius plot is 97.2kJmol-1, and the pre-exponential frequency factor is A=24.2min-1 at a temperature range of 50-70 degrees C.
