摘要
A series of amylopectin-graft-polyacrylamides with varying molecular structures were synthesized and used to flocculate and dewater oil sands tailings. Amylopectin-graft-polyacrylamides made with different grafting frequencies and lengths were compared with commercial polyacrylamide flocculants according to supernatant turbidity, sediment solids content, and capillary suction time. Thanks to their hydrophobic core, amylopectin-graft-polyacrylamides formed sediments with higher solids content than the commercial polyacrylamides used in our experiments, suggesting that they are an attractive alternative to treat oil sands tailings.
