摘要
The mass/heat transfer from a particle at high Peclet number is controlled by a thin mass transfer boundary layer and altered dramatically by microscale inertia. Subramanian and Koch (2006) analyzed the effects of inertia on the streamline topology and the rate of heat/mass transfer for small but nonzero Reynolds number. In this paper, we extend the boundary layer analysis of mass/heat transfer from a neutrally buoyant sphere in simple shear flow at high Peclet number to finite Reynolds numbers by numerical simulation.
