摘要
Complex permeability spectra of a Yttrium Iron Garnet (YIG: Y3Fe5O12) under external magnetic field and complex permittivity spectra of thin metal wire array composites have been studied in the microwave frequency range. Resonant type sharp spectra having negative permeability have been observed above 1 GHz in YIG under external magnetic field up to 1 kOe. This spectra can be described by the gyro-magnetic spin resonance. Permittivity of thin metal wire array composites takes negative value below an equivalent plasma frequency omega(p) = 16 GHz when the distance of wires is 30 mm. A left-handed material characteristics having negative permeability and permittivity can be achieved by combining these two materials in several GHz frequency region.
