Nitrogen-doped carbon foam as an efficient enzymatic biosensing platform for glucose sensing

摘要
In this work, nitrogen-doped elastic carbon foam (denoted as NECF) was constructed as the supporting matrix to load glucose oxidase (GOD) for preparing glucose biosensors. The NECF had an elastic three-dimensional (3D) interconnected network architecture and contained a large amount of nitrogen, which could greatly increase the specific surface area, electrical conductivity, mechanical stability, active sites and biocompatibility. Therefore, the NECF-based biosensor exhibited some advantages over the traditional GOD electrodes. The as-prepared glucose biosensors showed a wide linear range from 0.51 mu M to 19.00 mM with a high sensitivity of 98.46 mu A cm(-2) mM(-1) and a low detection limit of 0.17 mu M. Furthermore, the glucose biosensor exhibited high selectivity, good repeatability and reproducibility, and good stability. This study essentially offered a novel approach for the development of biosensors with excellent analytical properties.
