Cs4PbBr6-xClx Single Crystals with Tunable Emission for X-ray Detection and Imaging

摘要
There is a growing demand for novel scintillators with applications in security inspection, medical radiography, X-ray astronomy, and so on. However, the conventional all-inorganic scintillators encounter typical bottlenecks such as high cost, fixed emission band, and long decay time, etc. The recently developed halide perovskite scintillators are subjected to defects-induced thermal quenching and moisture instability. Herein, we developed a series of zero-dimensional perovskite single crystals (SCs) as scintillators with tunable emission through a simple low-temperature solution method. The emission wavelength of Cs4PbBr6-xClx SCs can be tuned from similar to 528 to similar to 433 nm by varying the Br/Cl ratio. In addition, the photoluminescent lifetimes can be shortened to 0.62 ns with the increase of Cl. The scintillating properties of our SCs were studied, and the X-ray imaging results showed a high spatial resolution of 4.0 line-pairs per millimeter. Also, the obtained crystals exhibit impressive stability under ambient conditions. This work provides a new strategy to design and synthesize perovskite scintillators, which hold potential in promoting fast scintillators performance.
