For non-inert substance, when v(i)/Sigma(i)/v(i) < 0 or v(i)/Sigma(i) v(i) > x(i)(0), to increase substance i will make an equilibrium shift in the direction to deplete substance i; when x(i)(0) > v(i)/Sigma(i) v(i) > 0, to increase substance i will make an equilibrium shift in the direction to produce more substance i.
