Adsorption and immersion enthalpies on BPL carbon

摘要
The measurement of a series of isotherms with different adsorbates on BPL carbon has been carried out. The Dubinin-Raduskevich equation has been used to determine E-o(DR), the characteristic energy, and hence the corresponding free energy of immersion, Delta G(im). The enthalpies of immersion were measured in the pure liquid adsorbates for both BPL carbon and Cabot Black Pearls 570, a non-porous carbon with a similar external surface area, for the determination of the heat exclusive to the porous adsorption process. Combining these measurements permitted the calculation of the entropy change for the adsorption process of the various adsorbates. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
