摘要
The interference fit surface between planetary gears and corresponding bearings in the planetary gearbox suffers from the most severe variable load during operation and is prone to fatigue failure. It is generally believed that the failure mode of the interference fit surface is only fretting wear. In this study, the fretting and slipping between the planetary gear inner hole and the bearing outer ring is investigated by force analysis and the finite element method. The fatigue failure mode is analyzed for the planetary gears and corresponding bearings in a planetary gearbox which standardly designed according to IEC 61400-4:2012. The surface hardness is verified according to ISO 18203:2016. Fatigue crack sources, fretting wear, and traces of slipping are found on the failed inner hole of the planetary gear and outer rings of the bearing. The failure mode of the interference fit surface between the planetary gears and the bearings is determined as simultaneous fretting and slipping under a variable load, caused by differences in the dynamic meshing forces of internal and external engagement.
