Classrooms have become linguistically and culturally diverse due to globalization. This has led to intercultural misunderstandings caused by cultural differences. Thus, school programs need to consider cultural diversity in ESL classrooms. It will help them understand cultural diversity and its role in intercultural classrooms. Therefore, it is essential for teachers to be culturally competent and responsive (Bennett, 1998). They can do this by incorporating intercultural teaching in classrooms, which will boost intercultural communication among students. This paper will examine how to cultivate student's intercultural communicative competence through project-based learning (PBL). It is one way through which intercultural learning can be integrated into language teaching. It will include an introduction of the topic, literature review of project-based learning in ESL classrooms, and the methodology used in the study. Results will also be discussed, as well as the conclusion.
