摘要
We successfully prepared a series of optically poled germanosilicate glass. As second harmonic generation (SHG) material, their properties in the frequency-doubling process are systematically demonstrated and summarized, such as polarization dependence, symmetry point group, angle sensitivity, etc. The optically poled germanosilicate glass behaves more like uniaxial crystal. Their properties in the poling process are studied as well, including poling time and ultra-violet irradiation effects. The results prove that the second-order nonlinearity in poled glass can be kept in the medium. In addition, it is both writable/readable and erasable. Finally, the optically poled germanosilicate glass is proved to be a potential alternative to SHG material.
