Theory of reconstructive phase transitions between SiO2 polymorphs

摘要
The ordered structures of SiO2 are shown to derive from a common parent disordered bce structure having different fractional concentrations of SiO2 molecules. This property allows us to describe the mechanisms of the quartz-coesite and coesite-stishovite reconstructive phase transitions, and the structure of the corresponding interphase boundaries.
