Reversible polysiloxane-based near-infrared fluorescent probe for monitoring the redox cycles between HClO/SO2 in mitochondria and in vivo

摘要
The redox homeostasis between hypochlorous acid and sulfur dioxide is closely associated with the physiological processes. However, it is challenging to develop reversible probes for detecting this redox cycle. Towards this end, we designed a novel near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent probe P-HClO-SO2, which integrates with telluroenzyme mimics for monitoring the changes of HClO/SO2 levels in cellular condition and in vivo. The unique probe P-HClO-SO2 could reversibly respond to HClO and SO2 and exhibit high selectivity, sensitivity, and mitochondrial target. This work may render a valuable advance on the redox processes within the cell redox regulation and in vivo.
