To calculate the load flow in energy supply systems, the influence of all external networks that are connected to the internal network has to be considered. Normally, an exact consideration is not practicable because no exact data of the external network, such as the actual switching status or the actual load and generation situation, are known. It is therefore common practice to reduce the external networks to equivalent networks. These equivalents are able to reproduce the influence of the external network approximately.
