摘要：

We offer a graphical diagnostic tool kit for the analysis of hierarchical linear models using a Bayes linear approach, and show how to use this approach to obtain useful insights into the relationship between our prior knowledge and the different aspects of the data. Our example is taken from the field of educational research.
