摘要
The main purpose of this work is to study the structure of Anadara granosa shells and their structural transformation upon the heat treatments. The Anadara granosa waste shells were collected from the restaurants in Chonburi province. They were cleaned, dried and ground into powders. Then, the powder samples were heated in an electric furnace from room temperature to 900 degrees C. The crystal structure of powder samples at various heated temperatures was characterized using X-ray diffraction. The phase transition was observed from X-ray diffraction patterns and the percentage of phase composition at each temperature was analyzed and determined using a Rietveld-based computation method. The thermal behavior of the samples was investigated by thermogravimetry measurement (TGA). The morphology of the samples was analyzed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). After that, the Anadara granosa shells were stored under air atmosphere for about one month and the phase transformation due to the moisture absorption was investigated again. The results on those characterizations were reported and discussed.Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
