摘要
The purpose of the present study is to obtain more specific information on the crystallization mechanism and phase transitions in the solid state in iron - carbon alloys Fe - (4 - 5) % C. Investigations were carried out via quenching method of samples from different temperatures out of the liquid state and by the quenching technique of samples obtained at the directional controlled solidification with the given temperature gradient. Samples under investigation were quenched in water and the melted aluminum bath with temperature from 680 degrees C to 900 degrees C. The carried out investigations made it possible to identify a specific process of non-equilibrium crystallization in the studied alloys, which explains the formation of both equilibrium and non-equilibrium phase constituents at the crystallization process and in the solid state.
