摘要
The results of classical varicose vein surgery consisting of crossectomy, stripping and branch extirpation as well as perforans dissection when necessary as the classical procedure for treatment of varicose veins and the supposedly gold standard of invasive therapy, are coming increasingly under pressure from the new endovenous procedures. The introduction of endovenous procedures, treated as innovation, was accompanied from the very beginning by register studies and many smaller and larger studies. This makes it even more difficult because long-term studies for the results of classical varicose vein surgery do not exist. In the present study an attempt will be made to give an overview of the results of classical varicose vein surgery. For this purpose the data on the results of classical varicose vein surgery from many sources were collated and assessed.
