131I-SPECT/CT Found an Ovarian Metastasis Covered by Iliac Metastasis on 131I Whole-Body Scan in a Patient With Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

摘要：
Ovarian metastasis from differentiated thyroid carcinoma is very exceptional. In this study, we describe a case of a 42-year-old woman with an I-131-uptake lesion in the left pelvic cavity from papillary thyroid carcinoma incidentally found by I-131-SPECT/CT, which was concealed by the iliac metastasis on I-131 whole-body scan. Pelvic MRI indicated that the lesion was most likely to be an ovarian mass. Finally, the mass in the pelvic cavity was histologically confirmed to be an ovarian metastasis from papillary thyroid carcinoma. The presented case highlights that I-131-SPECT/CT is more effective for the localization and identification of metastases from differentiated thyroid carcinoma than planar I-131 whole-body scan.
