摘要
This case report describes the rare occurrence of multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) in a dog similar to the subtype MEN 2A in humans. The eleven-year-old male dog was presented with polyuria and polydipsia due to hypercalcemia, an elevated parathormone level and a suspected primary hyperparathyroidism. A thyroid adenocarcinoma, a parathyroid adenoma and a neuroendocrine abdominal carcinoma were diagnosed. Thereupon, a dual thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy, and the surgical removal of the neuroendocrine carcinoma were performed. The calcium level of the dog was subsequently stabilised with calcitriol. He was also given carboplatin chemotherapy and is at the time of publication in an age-appropriate health condition.
