The title compound, C15H16BrNO2S, was obtained unintentionally in our work on the preparation of vicinal haloamine derivatives. The molecule lies across a crystallographic mirror plane with the NH group disordered across this mirror plane. The dihedral angle between the benzene and phenyl rings is 25.10 (17)degrees. In the crystal structure, intermolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains running along the b axis. In addition, C-H center dot center dot center dot Br hydrogen bonds are observed.
