摘要
Ln(III)[Ru(2)(CO(3))(4)] center dot 8H(2)O (Ln = Gd, Nd, Ho, Yb) is formed from the reaction of LnIII and [Ru(2)(CO(3))(4)](3) in water. These Ln(III) materials have a 3D network structure composed of linked chains and mu(n)-CO(3) linkages to both Ru and Ln(III) sites, and are best described as Ln(III)(OH(2))(4)[Ru(2)(CO(3))(4)](1/2)[Ru(2)(CO(3))(4)(OH(2))(2)](1/2) center dot 3H(2)O. Complete characterization of the Gd(III) species is presented, as the other Ln(III) are is ostructural and exhibit large spin-orbit coupling leading to complex magnetic behavior. Magnetic ordering is not observed above 2K. (c) 2008 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
