摘要
Calycanthus chinensis is an endangered species which has survived from tertiary period, and now only restricted to Zhejiang Province of China. It has been listed in the rare and endangered plants of second-grade protection of China. A good knowledge of complete chloroplast (cp) genomics is helpful to the establishments of effective management and conservation strategies for this species. In this study, the complete cp genome was characterized using Illumina paired-end reads data. In total, whole cp genome is 153,596bp in length and contains a small single copy region with 19,795bp, a pair of repeat (IRa and IRb) regions with 23,288bp, and a large single copy region with 87,225bp. This genome contains 130 genes, including 84 protein-genes, eight rRNA genes and 38 tRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis based on 18 cp genome sequences showed that C. chinensis closely related to Calycanthus floridus var. glaucus and C. fertilis var. ferax.
