摘要:
Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a rare disorder in boys and men with limited data and studies available. The recent update of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) will in all likelihood lead to an increase in the prevalence of AN in boys and men. This study aims to give an overview of the existing data in regards to gender differences in epidemiology, etiology, and symptoms of AN. We aim to highlight the differences in AN between the sexes, from a clinical point of view, and underline the need for further research on AN in boys.
