摘要
Today, as the improvement of scientific technology and development of social economy, education and economy embody relations as follows: interdependence, mutual promotion, mutual effects and mutual restriction. Especially, higher education becomes the motive power of regional economic development. Analyzing the relationship between higher education and economic growth from 1999 to 2012 by means of econometrics model, the results showed that the sources of economic growth in Jilin province are fixed investment and labor input, while the development of higher education did not play its due role. To find the reasons, the division of disciplines and the structure of industries are incompatible, the expansion of higher education leads to excessive ones and ease 'production-study-research'. Thus, it is essential to increase investment into higher education, adjust the division of disciplines, control the scale of higher education, coordinate higher education and regional economic development, so that realize the promoting role of higher education to regional economic growth.
