摘要
Accurate computational models are needed for rigid polyurethane foam to address issues of shock and high-rate loading. Static and dynamic mechanical testing of polyurethane foam (28 lb/ft(3)) provided by Morton Thiokol was performed on facilities at Sandia National Laboratories and the University of Arizona to provide material property data. These and other published data and existing theory were used to generate response models within the framework of the CTH wave code for polyurethane foam with initial densities of 10-50 lb/ft(3). Parameters are provided for the commonly used rho-alpha model and for a recently developed rho-lambda model which accounts for air-filled void in the distended material.
