摘要
A new fern species, Polystichum neocavernicola (Dryopteridaceae), is described and illustrated from a limestone cave in Guangxi, China. It is distinguished from its closest relatives, P. cavernicola, P. fengshanense, and P. speluncicola by rachis scales, number of pinna pairs per lamina, fertility of lower pinnae, pinna shape, soral position, soral number per pinna, and importantly perispore sculpture. The new species is assessed as critical endangered following the IUCN criteria.
