摘要
In this paper, we introduce a procedure aimed at measuring the position of charge releasing events within a segmented HPGe gamma -ray detector. The proposed method is able to easily discriminate multiple events occurring close in space, even within the same segment. This is crucial in most applications. Limiting factors for the procedure, such as electronic noise and the finite bandwidth of the preamplifier are also considered, their effects modeled and taken into account. The algorithm is not computation intensive and it is meant for real time operation on a simple dedicated hardware. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
