It is very essential to remove the noise in EEG before further EEG analysis and processing. It is very difficult to denoise EEG effectively hence in this paper presents EEG filtering approach to separate the artifact from the recorded electroencephalograph (EEG) signal. Fractional zero-phase filtering technique is used to implement the proposed filter. Fractional zero-phase filtering techniques combines the two main characteristics of fractional-order and zero-phase. For simulation of proposed method white Gaussian noise is added in original EEG signal and tested to separate the artifact from the contaminated EEG signal. The denoising results using proposed approach is also compared with other convention techniques. The experimental results show that the proposed filtering technique performs better than convention approach.
