The Effect of Charge Compensation on the Luminescence Behavior of Eu3+-Doped Perovskite CaZrO3 Red Phosphor

摘要
Red-emitting phosphors of CaZrO3 co-doped by Eu3+ and alkali metals ions (Li+, Na+, and K+) were synthesized using a high-energy ball milling method. The structures, morphologies, and photoluminescence properties of the materials were examined by X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed that the crystal structure keeps invariant at various activator concentrations and with the addition of different charge compensators. The highest excitation peak located at 395 nm matches well with commercial near-UV chips. The emission spectra exhibited a stronger red emission at 614 nm attributed to the D-5(0) -> F-7(2) electronic dipole transition of Eu3+. The effects of the concentration of Eu3+ as well as charge compensation on the luminescent properties were investigated. Co-doping with Li+ ions as a charge compensator significantly enhanced the luminescence intensity.
