EFFECT OF SITE SPECIFIC NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT ON NUTRIENTS BUDGETING IN IRRIGATED RICE

摘要
A field experiment was conducted in vertisols at the Agricultural Research Station, Siruguppa, Karnataka, India to study the effect of Site Specific Nutrient Management (SSNM) on soil nutrient budgeting in irrigated rice. The experiment consisted of seven treatments with an application of different categories of nutrients including control and Farmer's Fertilizers Practice (FFP). Nutrient balances were constructed on major, secondary and micronutrients based on fertilizer input and nutrient removal with grain and straw. The input-output balance for P and K was positive in all the treatments except control and farmer's fertilizer practice. However, control recorded negative N balance, but remaining treatments showed positive balance. The results from the present investigation indicated that SSNM approach has positive influence on available nutrients in the soil.
