摘要
Images and multimedia content are becoming an essential part of the e-learning courses and course designers everywhere use them more and more to replace the emphasis on text. Assuming that images do influence learning and cognitive processes, what are the kind of images that work best to elicit the kind of response and involvement from an e-learning pupil? This paper looks at how school children respond to images when writing essays and how types of images influence differently the quality indicators of school children compositions: quantity of considerations, lexical variety, comprehensiveness of the composition, the logical structure of the ideas, originality, presence of critical considerations and authenticity. It also shows that there are characteristics of children's compositions (orthographic accuracy, grammatical accuracy etc) that are not influenced by images, regardless of the nature of the image.
