BESIII Status and Recent Results

We report the status of BESIII at BEPCII and recent results from 106M psi' and 226M J/psi samples at BESIII. These results include the confirmation of X(1860) in psi' -> pi(+)pi(-) J/psi(J/psi -> yp (p) over bar) from psi' sample and J/psi -> yp (p) over bar from J/psi sample, and X(1835) in J/psi -> gamma eta'pi pi., the study of a(0)(980) - f(0)(980) mixing, as well as the preliminary results on the excited baryon states. The physics potentials, especially that for the baryon physics program at BESIII are also mentioned briefly.
