摘要
We report the first experimental characterization of intermodulation distortions in ultrafast (>325 GHz) plasmonic-organic hybrid Mach-Zehnder modulators. The third-order input intercept point (IIP3) measured for a 25 mu m-long plasmonic modulator reaches 18.9 dBm, very close to the value of 19 dBm obtained for a commercial high-performance GaAs modulator. The plasmonic approach may provide ultrafast (hundreds GHz speeds), ultracompact and highly linear modulators for novel microwave photonics applications.
