摘要：

Visper is a visual software-engineering environment for explicit message-passing based, distributed memory, MIMD parallel programming in Java. It incorporates the advantages of the remote execution of Java programs and portability with the established techniques and practices of parallel processing on the network of computers, such as MPI. The similarity between Visper and MPI enables a quick learning curve for experienced MPI programmers. Visper is implemented entirely in Java, and has been tested on Unix and Windows NT based networks.
