摘要：
This paper discusses the importance of multimedia interfaces. Crucial issues in multimedia interface design such as media combination, synchronisation, coherence and interference will be discussed in detail Some initial guidelines on multimedia interface design for intelligent systems are given. Although the ideas expressed here partly based on our work in intelligent systems (e.g. smart home systems and intelligent traffic management systems) area they are likely to be generalisable to wider domains.
