摘要：
The distribution of shear stresses in a pillar was back-calculated from the deformation measurements made from the SPDV area at the WIPP. A reasonable pattern of shear stress distribution around an excavation was suggested based on the Zero Strain Boundary (ZSB) calculation, computer simulation using FLAG, and measured deformation rates in the pillars.
