摘要
In a traditional learning environment, learning is restricted to time and place, whereas E-learning embeds information technologies into education to expand the borders of the classroom. Open Source Software (OSS) has become an international phenomenon, moving from relative obscurity to the latest buzzword in a few years. OSS is not only a successful software development, but also works well in E-learning environments. This paper discusses four models of web-based curriculum system in detail, and explores the relationship between OSS and E-learning. Furthermore, the methods of constructing and implementing an E-learning environment with Moodle 1.9.4 on the latest redflag linux system, Asianux Server 3, are also introduced.
