Synthesis of Perovskite Structure (Ca0.61, Nd0.26)TiO3 Nanopaticles by Sol-Gel Method

(Ca-0.61, Nd-0.26)TiO3 nanoparticles were synthesized by sol-gel method. In order to alleviate aggregation, ammonium polyacrylate was employed as dispersant. When the xerogel was heat-treated at 500 degrees C for 1 h with a heating rate 2 degrees C/min, the X-ray diffraction pattern of the powder showed the presence of the orthorhombic GdFeO3 type perovskite phase without any other impurity phase. Moreover, the tetragonal structure particles were obtained with an average size of 50-70 nm. Micro-nanocrystal cores were observed on the substrate of noncrystal at a heating rate of 5 degrees C/min. With the heating rate up to 8 degrees C/min, no conspicuous crystal phase was observed.
