Lepton universality and lepton flavor violation in Γ decays

The datasets collected at the Gamma(3S) and Gamma(2S) energies have recently allowed the BABAR experiment to obtain several important results in the precision tests of the Standard Model, as well as in the search for direct and in direct new physics effects. In particular, in this paper we present a test of lepton universality, measuring the ratio of decay widths Gamma(Gamma(1S) -> tau(+)tau(-))/Gamma(Gamma(1S) -> mu(+)mu(-)), and contributing to the search for a light pseudoscalar Higgs boson. We also show new limits on lepton flavor violating decays of the Gamma(3S) and Gamma(2S).
