摘要
Continuous vacuum pans are well established in modern beet and cane sugar factories. They have many advantages over batch pans. The following paper considers pan design and examines circulation, throughput, calandria design, flow path, cell number, control methods and philosophy. Recent developments are placed in a historical context.
