摘要
A tin ion-exchanged bentonite seems to be a rather efficient and highly selective catalyst for Baeyer-Villiger oxidation of 2-heptylcyclopentanone to delta-dodecalactone using aqueous hydrogen peroxide (35 wt%) as a clean oxidant. The bentonite-supported tin catalyst was characterized by IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Methanesulfonic acid and sodium dodecyl sulfate promoted conversion of 2-heptylcyclopentanone to delta-dodecalactone in high (81 %) yield.
