ON THE CONTRIBUTION OF K. K. PLATONOV TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROBLEMS OF SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY

The article presents some directions of K.K. Platonov's development of problems of social psychology. Platonov's significant personal contribution to the restoration of Russian social psychology and to the development of problems of theory, history and methodology is noted. K.K. Platonov's ideas about the subject of social psychology, its main sections and branches are analyzed. Platonov made a significant contribution to the development of such areas of social psychology as psychology of groups and collectives, social psychology of personality and social psychology of work. Platonov's ideas about the socio-psychological phenomena of group consciousness, psychological compatibility, communication and interpersonal relations, etc. are considered. An important role belongs to Platonov in the organization and participation in conducting theoretical and empirical studies of various kinds of collectives, socio-psychological climate and socialist competition. Theoretical and empirical studies of Platonov laid the foundation for a number of areas of Russian social psychology: social psychology of work, psychology of religion, research of the phenomena of group consciousness, psychology of interpersonal relations, etc.
