摘要
Nowadays, tooth loss problem is occurring most frequently in the younger generation. A dental implant is a technique for replacement of tooth loss. There are plenty of issues that lead to implant failure in medical applications, for example, Osseo integration failures and marginal bone restoration, which limits patient satisfaction with implants. Poor bacterial infection and Osseo integration are the most common causes of the implant failure. The purpose of this article is to review various surface modification techniques, such as blasting, acid etching, anodic oxidation, plasma spraying, and chemical techniques used on different implant materials. The primary objective of this review paper is to present general information for better modification of the implant surface.Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
