摘要
This paper deals with possibility of the application of expert system for diagnostics the conditions of the marine propelling engine. Selection of relevant characteristics enables detecting the cause of failure and making correct decisions based on production rules IF - THEN. The results are shown in such a sequence that the first are failures that are most likely to occur followed by failures with the least probability to occur. Elaboration of the expert system is very complex and demanding in order to reach consistent system.
