摘要:
A Monte Carlo simulation of an encapsulated Ir-192 source for high dose rate (HDR) prostate brachytherapy is presented. Basic dosimetric quantities related to this source are derived from the simulation data following the AAPM Task Group 43 formalism, including dose rate constant, source kerma strength, anisotropy function and radial dose function. Dose rate distribution data in a water phantom were obtained using cylindrical geometry covering +/-15 cm in the longitudinal and transverse directions from the center of the source.
