Comparative optical study of thulium-doped YAlO3 and GdVO4 single crystals

摘要：
Absorption and emission spectra of Tm3+ in YAlO3 and GdVO4 single crystals are reported and analyzed. Lifetimes of (1)G(4) (22 mu s) F-3(4) (5.1 ms) states in YAlO3 and (1)G(4) (16 mu s) F-3(4) (2.3 ms) states in GdVO4 are measured, Fluorescence decay curves of blue and infrared emissions are also been given. In addition, widely tunable laser performances of Tm:YAlO3 and Tm:GdVO4 lasers are demonstrated. [GRAPHICS] Tunability curves of tunable Tm lasers (C) 2008 by Astro Ltd.
