摘要：

In this paper we examine how Unified Modeling Language (UML) can be used together with the Specification and Description Language (SDL) that is standardized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). In the different examples that are detailed it is shown not only how an SDL user will be able to benefit from UML, but also how a UML user will be able to take advantage of the strengths of SDL. Particular attention is paid to how UML views complement the possibilities to express real-time applications using SDL. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
