Effect of Nanometer Barium Titanate Powder Addition on the Dielectric Properties of BaTiO3-Based Ceramics

摘要
Nanometer BaTiO3 powder was prepared by sol-gel process. The influence of calcining temperature on the average particle size of BaTiO3 powder and the effect of nanometer BaTiO3 powder addition on the microstructure and dielectric constant of BaTiO3 were discussed. The average particle size of nanometer BaTiO3 powder calcined at 800 degrees C was about 60 nm. The nanometer BaTiO3 powder improved densification of the ceramics and enhanced dielectric constant. The role of the nanometer BaTiO3 powder was explained using solid state sintering theory. The ceramics doped with 6wt% nanometer BaTiO3 powder and sintered at 1240 degrees C for 6 h exhibited the dielectric constant of 5500 at 1 kHz.
